Beautifully Different

#Reverb December 8 – Beautifully Different.

“Think about what makes you different and what you do that lights people up. Reflect on all the things that make you different – you’ll find they’re what make you beautiful.

I often think that I’m nothing special. I’m just me-another person on this planet who’s going to work, studying for tests, doing laundry, and shopping for groceries. I can’t really think of anything that sets me apart from any other person and often times I feel quite ordinary and plain.

But then there are those tiny moments when suddenly I realize that I must be different.

Those are the moments when I look up and catch Andy watching me. Those are the moments when Andy tucks me into the crook of his arm and kisses my ear lobe. Those are the moments when Andy picks me up, squeezes me real hard and says, “I just love you so much.”

Those are the moments when I realize I must be different. Beautifully different.

There must be something beautifully different about me that sets me apart from all the other girls Andy has dated. There must be something beautifully different about me that causes him to stare and smile while I do ordinary tasks like load the dishwasher. There must be something beautifully different about me that made Andy want to buy me a ring and promise to spend the rest of his life by my side.

I’m not sure what that something is, but I’m sure glad Andy sees it. Maybe it’s similar to the something I see when I look at him.
