Mostly a quiet weekend at home. We did head out to MacCool’s on St. Patrick’s for some corned beef and green beer. It was a fun night and the food was amazing. Other than that, we’ve just been watching movies all weekend.

A Saturday morning (with another Bountiful Basket)

Andy went on a bike ride with a friend this morning. While he was gone I shampooed our carpet. I started on it yesterday. It was quite the job. The carpet is drying as I write this and I’m hoping to be able to move the furniture back in place by this evening.
We got also another Bountiful Basket this morning and I am so thrilled with what we got! I couldn’t wait to start using it all. See- I already used some of the celery, green onions, and oranges to put together this lunch-

(Grilled ham and cheese with Spicy Orange Chicken Salad-yum!)

This week we got our regular conventional basket but we also added an asian themed basket. I’m wishing we had got another 5 loafs of 9 grain bread but I didn’t realize we were low. We only have one loaf left and I have been inhaling that bread, it’s so delicious! So here’s what we got this week:

17 little orange peppers (anyone know exactly what these are?)

Green Onions

As you can see, a lot of my recipes this week are coming from For The Love of Cooking. I just discovered that blog and I am anxious to try a bunch of her recipes out! Anyone want to come to dinner? We have a lot of veggies to get through!

I’m going to spend the rest of the day cleaning the house and doing laundry. I need to wash linens today as well as our normal load. Fun, huh? I also need to go to the store for a couple of staples and household products. But don’t worry. I do have some ‘fun’ time planned today. Pilates and Stretch this afternoon and it’s nice enough to play frisbee with Ash in the backyard. I also need to get caught up in my journal and caught up on Downton Abbey! I love Saturdays, don’t you?

Her Weekend

We mostly rested at home this weekend. I did some baking and cleaning and we picked up a new puzzle to work on. We spent the evenings reading and watching movies-never watch Contagion. Freaked me out! I think I washed my hands ten times in the next hour after it was over. On Sunday we drove to Wyoming to meet my new nephew- Nixon Clay. He is the super cutest little stud!!

How was your weekend?

Launch into the Weekend

Photobucket

It’s Friday and that means that for me, it’s cleaning day! My house is long overdue for some deep cleaning so I’m excited to work my way through it today. Hubby is recovering from a minor surgery so we don’t have much planned for this weekend except movie marathons. If he’s feeling better by Sunday then we will head to Wyoming to meet my sisters new baby, Nixon. I’m also planning on making some banana bread with my new mini loaf pan.
What are your weekend plans?

Winter Getaway

We headed down to Moab this weekend to do some hiking. The two days that we were there we enjoyed perfect weather conditions. It was so nice to get some sun and exercise for a change. We went on three hikes- Dead Horse Point, Negro Bill’s Canyon to Morning Glory Bridge, and the Corona Arch trail. We enjoyed Negro Bill’s the best although all were gorgeous.

It was a quiet weekend at home but I enjoyed the peace while I watched the rain fall outside. I’m almost sad that I have to get back to work tomorrow but that’s okay.
